Three groups vie for New York Aqueduct slots contract

Atlantic Lottery Corporation and CGI Announce the Signing of a Seven-Year Contract

CGI was selected over several alternative bidders after the lottery corporation issued a request for proposals from external companies, said lottery president Michelle Carinci.  “CGI as our IT partner can provide us with both the local support and global resources we need to achieve our overall business objectives,” she said.
 
Gaming experts slam casino bill
A bill that would shut the public out from the decision of who sits on the powerful commission that oversees casinos has come under fire from gaming experts. “Transparency is essential,” said Bill Thompson, a national gambling expert at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. “It’s an attractive industry for corrupt people, and they’ll try to get an angle through politics or the board.”
 
No-limit poker legal in Florida on July 1
Once the new state-approved gambling regulations kick in, the biggest change is an increase in the amount of loot you can put out there on the table. Currently, the most a player can buy-in for a “cash” game is $100. After July 1, there will be no limits.
 
No Internet addiction link to gambling
Internet dependence and problem gambling are addictions, but Australian researchers found no link between excessive Internet use and problem gambling.

INTRALOT’s subsidiary in New Zealand, INTRALOT NZ Ltd, has signed a heads of an agreement with the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) for an integrated gambling platform (IGP) that will complement the proven electronic monitoring system (EMS) of 19,000 non-casino gaming machines until 2020
 
Gambling in Delaware: Dover Downs gets piece of the action
The noontime grand opening at Dover Downs was the third ceremonial roll of the dice for Wayne Lemons, state lottery director, who earlier this month inaugurated games like blackjack and roulette at Harrington Raceway & Casino and Delaware Park.  On Friday, at a craps table, he rolled a hard six -- a pair of threes.  "It's been an intense three or four months" of preparation, Lemons said, noting revenue from the games is so far meeting state projections. "It's all coming together. It's good to have the last opening behind us."

NH Lottery Commission Launches New Gaming Website
 Next week, the New Hampshire Lottery will unveil new online games in an attempt to boost revenue.  The state will launch PlayNowNH.com on July 1. The site includes interactive games such as "Super Slots," "Speed Bingo" and "New Hampshire Poker."
 
OH Governor, lottery chief want to see audit
Lottery Director Kathleen Burke resisted the audit in November, writing that it didn't seem worth the $118,000 projected cost. The performance audit is supposed to drill into multiple aspects of lottery operations, from management to staffing levels to the operations of individual games.  "In summary, I find this delay to be puzzling, irregular, and without reasonable explanation and request that you reinstate the previously provided schedule," Burke wrote.
