Federal action
is impacting U.S. gaming and
regulatory policy in important ways,
especially in the last few years. It
seems that laws, legislation, and
judicial decisions made in the past
are not always clear-cut.
Governmental bodies like the Depts.
of Justice and Interior, Bureau of
Indian Affairs, and others are left
to interpret
the policy and laws and intentions
of legislators and judges. The
coming change in administration may
well change such interpretations.
Below are described some of these
laws and the controversy over how to
